The Association of Noise Consultants have released their 2021 Construction Noise Good Practice Guide on the preparation, submission and management of Section 61 consents.

If you are a company that performs tasks that generate potentially hazardous levels of noise, you need to have a qualified person perform a proper hazard analysis and train and equip your employees. If you are everyone else, you should still teach your employees about the hazards related to excessive exposure to high levels of noise, because this is very likely to happen on a construction site. Consider equipping them with a simple tool to make a field assessment and encourage and empower them to keep themselves and their coworkers healthy, as well as safe. We need to stop ignoring the long-term effects that working in this industry can have on us. This is being made possible by advances in technology and we should take advantage of that.
